The brass quintet Rekkenze Brass - named after the Slavic name of a village settlement from which the town of Hof emerged - was founded in 1978 and has performed in over 20 countries including America and the Far East.

Spahn, Jakob

The cellist Prof. Jakob Spahn studied at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin n and completed his soloist diploma with distinction. Following his two-year scholarship of the "Karajan Academy" with the Berlin Philharmonic, he became principal cellist of the Bavarian State Opera in 2011.

Prof. Stefan Tischler comes from Gütersloh in Westphalia and has been principal tuba of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich since 2010.

Prof. Galina Vracheva was born in Bulgaria, began her musical education at the Sofia Conservatory and studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and at the Munich University of Music and Theatre.

Weser, Till Fabian

Till Fabian Weser is "in his main profession" a member of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. He has been artistic director of the Bamberg Summer Opera since 2005.
