Andreas Schablas

Prof. Andreas Schablas studied at the conservatories in Graz and Vienna, with Kurt Daghofer, Peter Schmidl, Gerald Pachinger and above all Johann Hindler.

In addition to the standard repertoire, he is intensively involved with contemporary music, including playing the premiere of Friedrich Cerha’s Clarinet Concerto. Schablas was a member of the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg until 2008, when he moved to the Bavarian State Orchestra as deputy principal clarinettist, where he has been principal clarinettist since 2010. In 2017 Schablas took on a professorship at the Mozarteum University Salzburg and gives master classes at the Salzburg International Summer Academy and at Haus Marteau.
