Prof. Henrik Wiese

The German flutist Prof. Henrik Wiese was born in Vienna in 1971 and studied with Ingrid Koch-Dörnbrak and Paul Meisen.

Wiese has won numerous prizes at competitions, including the German Music Competition (1995), the international competitions in Kobe/Japan (1997), Markneukirchen/Germany (1998), Odense/Denmark (1998) and the renowned ARD Competition in Munich (2000). From 1995 to 2006 he was principal flutist at the Bavarian State Opera, and since 2006 Prof. Henrik Wiese has been principal flutist in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2018 he received a call to the Bremen Univerity of the Arts, followed by another call to the Nuremberg University of Music in 2020. He is also active as an editor and arranger for renowned publishers. Editions have been published by Breitkopf & Härtel, Universal Edition or G. Henle Verlag.
