Prof. Dag Jensen

The Norwegian bassoonist Prof. Dag Jensen has played as solo bassoonist in several important orchestras such as the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the WDR Cologne Symphony Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Orchestra and the Saito Kinen Festival Orchestra.

He has worked with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Seiji Ozawa and Simon Rattle. He is a two-time ARD prizewinner. As a much sought-after soloist and chamber musician, he is a regular guest at renowned festivals and has performed with major orchestras. His CD recordings cover a wide repertoire from solo concerts with orchestra to chamber music and works with piano. From 1997 to 2011 he was a professor at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, and since 2011 he has been a professor at the Munich University of Music and Theatre. He has also been professor of bassoon at the Norwegian Academy of Music Oslo since 2009.
