Prof. Bernd Glemser experienced an almost meteoric rise to fame as a pianist. As a student of Vitalij Margulis, he won 17 international music competitions in succession from 1981 onwards (e.g. ARD Music Competition 1987).
He is one of the most sought-after pianists in the world today. His repertoire ranges from Baroque to New Music. Among his more than 30 CD recordings are complete recordings of the sonatas of Robert Schumann and Sergei Prokofiev. His interpretations of the works of Sergei Rachmaninov have also received special recognition. He has been a professor at the University of Music Würzburg since 1996. He has received many awards for his artistic work (including the Andor Foldes Prize in 1992, the European Pianist Prize in 1993, the Art Prize of the City of Würzburg in 2006 and the Bavarian Culture Prize of E.ON Bayern AG in 2012).
