Prof. Daniel Gaede

Prof. Daniel Gaede was concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic from 1994 to 2000. As a soloist he has performed with leading orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Philharmonia Orchestra London and the Polish Chamber Orchestra with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti and Michael Tilson Thom.

His extensive chamber music activities have brought him together with P. Tortelier, M. J. Pires and Natalia Gutman, among others. CD recordings with Deutsche Grammophon, CPO, Largo Records and Sony, among others. He has been a professor at the Nuremberg University of Music since 2000. His students have already been successful in international competitions, play with well-known orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, received concertmaster positions, e.g. with the Basel Symphony Orchestra and Darmstadt State Theatre, or are active teachers themselves.
