Prof. Stefan Arnold studied with Prof. Hans Leygraf at the conservatories in Hanover, Salzburg and Berlin. As a 1st prize winner of several international competitions, he has been a sought-after guest in the music capitals of the world since his 1st prize at the International Bösendorfer Competition in 1988.
He plays with the Rundfunk-Orchester Berlin, the Bamberger Symphoniker, the Mozarteum-Orchester Salzburg and the Orchestre National de Belgique, among others. 13 CD recordings document excerpts of his extensive repertoire, ranging from Bach to contemporary music. From 1991 to 1993 Arnold was assistant to Prof. Leygraf at the Mozarteum University of Music in Salzburg. In 2004, he was appointed professor of concert piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He was also a visiting professor at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin from 2015 to 2020. In addition to his concert activities, he conducts master classes worldwide.
