For over three decades, the Kölner Klaviertrio has been at home on the concert stages in Europe, South America and East Asia as an ensemble that is both virtuosic and expressive.
Three mature artistic personalities combine to form a chamber music unity. Following the retirement of pianist Günter Ludwig, violinist Walter Schreiber and cellist Joanna Sachryn have been continuing the successful tradition in a new artistic constellation since the 2019/20 season with Wolfgang Manz, one of the most distinguished and versatile German pianists. Communication is the key word when talking to the musicians of the Kölner Klaviertrio about their work. Communication with each other, but above all with the audience. Introductory talk rounds, short moderations before the works played or lecture concerts are intended to open up and deepen approaches and perspectives on familiar masterpieces and unfamiliar repertoire.
