Solenn Grand is currently principal harpist with the MDR Symphony Orchestra Leipzig. Previously, she was principal harpist with the Prague State Opera Orchestra. Earlier positions took her to the Hofer Symphoniker and the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira as principal harpist.
She has won numerous international competitions, including first prize at the North International Music Competition in 2017, the John Marson Harp Prize in 2016, prizes at the 7th VDH Competition in 2014, and the Camac Harp Competition in 2013.
She has been practicing yoga since 2012, an activity that has had a lasting impact on her playing. As a teacher, she attaches great importance to body awareness on the harp and encourages her students to always find more inner space, breath, and connection to themselves.
She holds a concert exam from the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and an Artist Diploma in Performance from the Royal Academy of Music in London.
