Her programs with fellow musicians have toured Japan and Switzerland and are much in demand in Germany. Her collaboration with jazz legend Baby Sommer began in Dresden in 2008 and has continued ever since. Every year, the two come together and dedicate themselves either to Grass’ “Grimm’s Words”, Eugen Gomringer’s concrete poetry or Heinrich Heine’s texts.
At Haus Marteau, they undertake what they have never actually done before: a dialog on Nora Gomringer’s texts. The poet has received many awards for her lively and richly-formed poetic work, which has been translated into numerous languages. Her subtle humor and the decidedly humanistic attitude reflected in her poems make her one of the best-known representatives of contemporary German-language poetry. Günter Baby Sommer, also known for his many years of collaboration with authors such as Günter Grass, Rafik Schami and Christa Wolf, is a master at putting his improvised play into the lines in between, but also tickling them with power and wit. This turns readings into concerts for foot tappers and head nodders, friends of jazz and poetry.
Free choice of seats. If tickets are not collected, reserved tickets will be charged plus a handling fee.
