Brigitte Geller

Born and raised in Switzerland, Brigitte Geller studied flute and singing and began her career as a singer after two years at the International Opera Studio in Zurich.

As a permanent ensemble member, first in Heidelberg, then at the Komische Oper Berlin and the Landestheater Linz, as well as a guest at many theaters in Germany and abroad, she sang roles ranging from light lyric (Pamina, Sophie, Gretel, Susanna, and many others) to youthful dramatic (Figaro’s Countess, Medea, Empress, Chrysotemis) In addition to her opera work, Brigitte Geller has always been active as a lieder and concert singer. John Elliot Gardiner, Ton Koopmann, Helmut Rilling, Howard Arman, Markus Poschner, Kirill Petrenko, and many other conductors have shaped her musical career. Brigitte Geller has performed as a lieder interpreter at numerous festivals and concert series.
CDs and DVDs, from the “Bach Cantata Pilgrimage” with John Elliot Gardiner to Schubert songs with Ulrich Eisenlohr to Schoenberg’s “Von heute auf morgen” from the Teatro La Fenice or Monteverdi’s Poppea from the Komische Oper Berlin document her musical journey.
Kammersängerin Brigitte Geller gives master classes in Switzerland and Austria. Since October 2020, she has been a professor of voice at the Nuremberg University of Music and continues to make guest appearances at opera houses and concert halls.
