37/23 – Master Class for Singing (Woldt)

Master Class for Singing

“Sound and word are brother and sister” is the clever and balancing answer in Richard Strauss’ “Capriccio” to the age-old dispute about the element that dominates vocal music. However, this is not the only area of tension in which people who stand on the opera stage find themselves: Immediate and genuine expression always has to be balanced with unconditional vocal technical requirements – this course aims to help find a sensible balance here.
